What would we all do without Fat?
We all seem to be focusing on it. Ever since we were little ones we were told fat is not good for any of us. Many of us tend to be more concerned with calories rather than fat. When you should be very concerned about both of them. Make sure your diet doesn't consist of all junk food. Think about it like this. Many cultures in the world eat bread. Bread for some people is the center of the meal. In the golden days, women spent all day and night making breads for their families. A lot of places eat pasta with almost every meal. Many eat rice and the The Irish eat potatoes. These are all carbohydrates. We all seem addicted to carbohydrates. There goes a spare tire around our wastes.
However, not all fat is created equal. Some fat is far worse than other fat. Let's discuss these different kinds of fat. We have foods that are lower in saturated fat. These would include cheeses and meats. On the other side of the coin, you have items that are much more saturated than cheese and meats. These tend to be anything from deep fried foods. For example, this includes, good old potato chips. donuts, and everyone's favorite French fries.
You need to stay away from high calories in food. This will block your arteries and lead to heart attacks or strokes. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the good food in life has its health complications. The motto here is eat these foods always in moderation, that's the key to a happy and healthy life. You just can't eat them everyday. For example, get a smaller bag of chips instead of polishing off a whole large bag.
Olive oil is low in saturated fats. You definitely should use these oils whenever you cook. This type of fat is healthy for your body. If you need to fry something like chicken, use olive oil.
There are quite a few health risks involved with having a diet high in fat. You are at higher risk of having diabetes, cardiovascular heart disease and a whole slew of cancers. Their skin also takes a beating with acne problems and aging of the skin.
In summary, it's definitely okay to eat some fat in your diet, since your body needs it to run properly down to the cellular level. Just do it in moderation and you will be healthier and happier in the long run.
