Fast food. Whether it's a hot dog, burger or taco, we all like it. Fast food has become the norm for most working people. Many eat it 3 meals a day. There is no difference between a whopper and a steak to people these days. When I was a kid, I barely ate any fast food. To be honest we were too poor to eat fast food. Sometimes looking back I think that was more of a blessing. I mean, sure I love a big mac or a whopper like the rest of you, but there is more to eating than fast food. I don't care if they are fast food or a meal in a frozen box. There should be no need for it, but I can see why it is appealing to many people because it's there and it's easily accessible.

Lets discuss some ways you can get healthy at your fast food stops. Lets just get this out of the way in that you should avoid fast foods if you want to lose weight. Now, when it comes time to ordering a fat juicy burger, please try it without the mayo and the cheese. This way you will cut a lot of fat out just by doing this alone. If the burger is too dry for you without the mayo, then try using ketchup or mustard. This will lubricate the sandwich as it goes down.

Cheese in fast food places are made with ton of oil and other processed junk. Many of you think that cheese is made of milk, but not all. Much of it is made from cooking oil. One can easily tell just by looking at the cheese. Cheese that is made from oil will have a much different appearance. It will look oily and orange. Definitely Avoid bacon. I find that the bacon in fast food joints is undercooked and terrible tasting. They never cook it enough for my liking ever.

A golden rule is staying away from deep fried anything. Whether it's fish or chicken, don't fool yourself because the frying process has a ton of calories and will shoot up your blood cholesterol and triglycerides through the roof. Try chicken skinless and without frying and this will be lower in fat. A fried chicken sandwich to my surprise is just as fattening as a regular burger!

I Always try to avoid French fries and choose salad instead. I prefer you have a salad most of the times, but look were human and we love comfort foods, so treat yourself to some French fries say every 3 weeks and this way you don't feel totally deprived. Fast food restaurants and regular restaurants are starting to use healthier way of frying their foods, but again try to avoid and maybe treat yourself once a month.

Try going to places that show you how many calories are in there menu items. This will train you how to eat healthier.

For instance, Subway restaurants shows you fat content and the calories of each menu item.

You can eat a bunch of veggies and turkey. You can keep the calories down by drinking water and staying away from diet sodas and regular sodas. You can try club soda or water with lemon and lime to enhance the taste.
