Study Shows Fat People Are Cheaper To Treat
Researchers say it costs more to care for thinner, healthy people who live years longer, according to a Dutch study that says the common perception that stopping obesity would save governments millions of bucks.
The scientists found that from age 20 to 56, heavy people experienced the most expensive health costs. But because both the smokers and the heavy set people died sooner than the healthy group, it cost less to treat them in the long run.
