Exposing Diet Secrets And Myths

Okay, many of us have grown up knowing that dieting isn't fun. I know we all have heard to stay away from the likes of sugar, alcohol and most of all fatty products. This is a recipe for disaster and we both know it. We all need a little pick me up sweet treat every now and then. All in moderation is the operative word here. Just don't eat the bad foods everyday or you will lose the battle of the bulge for sure over time. The way you lose weight is basically a simple one. You take in less calories then your body needs to maintain it's current weight. Therefore, your body is forced to use fat storage for energy and burn it up as fuel instead of using the food you take in. The diet has to be nice to eat both visually and of course taste. Cutting certain foods out of your diet isn't always the solution, since that can depress you and trigger you to jump off of your diet. I know this is going to be staggering for some, but you can't put all your marbles in so to speak by using meal replacements, for example, Slimfast, etc. I am by no means saying Slimfast bars or drinks are bad. What I am saying is they shouldn't replace a a genuine meal unless your an astronaut. Calories are critically important for your diet. Don't use these meal replacements for more than a month at a time! Your muscles and internal organs don't like that at all, and the last time I checked you need your organs to live. I would say one to two weeks is even better for your body. The same goes for single food diets like the rice diet and cabbage soup diet.

People shouldn't be afraid of starches such as potatoes, bread and pasta, which are the leading sources of carbohydrates. Carbs are actually good for you because they quench the feeling of hunger without bringing in too many calories. So you can safely eat moderate amounts of potatoes and bread as long as you don’t use butter or sauces, which are laden with hydrogenated fat. Naturally, you also have to pay close attention to how these foods are prepared at all times. Sorry, French fries are not a low-fat food. Still, a high-carb, low-fat diet is far better than removing potatoes and bread from your daily meals and it’s also easier to adhere to. Another widespread myth is the idea that the best way to weight loss is a low-carbohydrate, high-protein diet. This is one of the myths that emerged from Hollywood. Many movie stars and singers are on such a diet. Now, this approach is not exactly great for you because a diet low in carbs and calories forces the body to use existing carbs located in your liver and your muscles. In time, this diet leads to weight loss mainly from water stored in the body, instead of fat, and also strains your internal organs. I can't say this enough, drinking water is probably best defense against gaining weight. I know women will disagree with water retention, but in the long run water taken before a meal will save you some calories and fill you up. Drinking cold water burns up more calories, since your body tries to warm up the cold water. Water does not trigger weight loss, but makes it a whole lot easier process. Water can't burn fat unfortunately. 2 pounds a week is just fine and diets shouldn't be judged better or worse if they claim more or less pounds coming off. Another myth claims that fat is downright terrible for you. Well it's not. Your body needs some fat in order to get the important fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K circulating through the cardiovascular system. Moreover, fat also brings into the body the essential fatty acids omega-3 that cannot be synthesized in the body. The word “essential” means that these fatty acids simply have to be present in your daily food since they play an important role in your health. The recommended dose of fat is 35 percent of your daily calories.

Exercise is crucial for losing weight and burning up that fat storage coupled with a sensible diet and weight loss supplement to aid you in your battle. Mind you not all weight loss pills are great. Proactol and Hoodia certified products can definitely be a blessing to curb your appetite for several hours. Proactol is the only clinically proven fat binder on the market and that will reduce your fat intake up to incredible 30% per meal. That alone you will take off close to three pounds a week on average. There are no real tricks to losing a lot of weight, so now you know. Take it one day at a time and you will lose the pounds.
